After seeing an online ad for 4 Pillars Consulting Group and having read their clients' positive testimonials, I decided to call them. I knew that I desperately needed help with my financial nightmare, and I tried other avenues that didn't help, so I thought I'd at least call them. It was a fantastic decision. I spoke with Sonia Oliviera on the telephone, and she invited me to come to her office for a consultation. I did go, and found Sonia to be very helpful, with a friendly and professional approach. I came to Sonia after having spent the last couple of years trying to fix my personal and business debt loads on my own, without having any success at all. My husband lost his job from oil and gas company in Oct 2014 until present. I was pregnant with our first child and had difficulties in pregnancy, the reason why I worked as casual. Give us a better credit card. The Affirm Card is making it difficult to obtain a second account. Writing a letter and mailing it to the USA is not good. A friend referred us to 4Pillars Consulting Group and I am so glad she did, after the first phone call, I felt so relieved. Both my husband and I said 4Pillars are the best ones to get help after phone calls, e-mails, and trips from Peterborough to Toronto. We have a plan and will be free in five years.

Dear Jennifer and John, My husband and I wish to thank you, for providing a workable plan to lift this tremendous financial burden off our shoulders. Disaster struck when our retirement funds disappeared at the same time our business services became obsolete, effectively putting us out of business. Being in our seventies time was not on our side and having been put out of business sealed our fate. We had no way to recover. Worry, anxiety, and despair took it's toll. The only option, or so we were lead to believe, was to declare bankruptcy. That was not an option we wanted to pursue, and as it turned out we couldn't. 2013 and the following six months were very depressing. Before I returned back to 4 Pillars after my first contact with them about 2 years ago, I tried other companies for help, only to end up where I was without any changes but rather lost more money and with a lots of headaches and anxieties about all my unsecured loans. Although I believe deep in my heart that Jennifer and John deserve more credit than I can ever express, I have struggled with putting my gratitude to them in words as I cannot find the words that could ever convey the magnitude of how they affected our lives. In the year 2010 my husband and I both lost our jobs and our family income went from $180,000 to under $45,000. We were not alone in this situation as thousands of individuals were in the same predicament during that year and the following year. As much as we struggled to find employment and were sending out resumes daily, being in our 50's was making our hopes of succeeding very dismal. We continued as best we could to make monthly payments on our loan and 3 credit cards; however we were never able to make the minimum required by the financial institutions while still maintaining the basic household expenses. The following month I was rear ended at a red light and spent the next 6 months having physiotherapy 3 times per week. All of this made the possibility of accepting an offer of employment very difficult. Shortly after this, I saw an ad for 4 Pillars online. I struggled with my debt for a number of years. Never able to come to grips with the fact that there was a problem... culminating after a failed marriage, spiralling further into Credit Cards and Personal Lines of Credit. Over the last few years I had managed to run up over 60k of unsecured debt. Mainly credit cards and a line of credit. I had approached the banks to help with a loan to pay off the debts, but because of the high minimum payments I was not able to afford it. Due to the high balances that I was carrying, the interest rates kept killing me and it was becoming a challenge just to make the minimum payments. I was stressed and my wife was very sick and it was taking a toll on my health. It was hard just trying to make ends meet. I was constantly searching the internet for solutions when I came across 4 Pillars and I contacted Scott and he assured me over the phone that he could help me out. I must admit that initially I was a little skeptical. I met with Scott and he was able to discuss various options. Scott seemed very concerned about my situation and assured me he could help. We were able to come up with a settlement proposal based on what I could afford to repay, on a monthly basis over a 60 month period. DIVINE INTERVENTION

Approximately 3 years ago my husband came home from work looking quite distressed. He told me our financial situation was deteriorating and no matter how many extra hours we added to our work week, the bottom line was, we would hardly be able to keep up with the interest payments on our debt and still keep the house running. He had a form he had picked up explaining what a consumer proposal was and a questionnaire. He wanted us to discuss doing a consumer proposal. I remember becoming very agitated and crying, I believe I uttered the words “ I would rather work myself to death”. He put the form away and we didn’t speak of it again until last year. As he had predicted, all the extra hours and even an intervention by family didn’t solve our money issues. A few months ago, he had intended to retire from his job and keep his second job which according to his calculations would bring us in more money then if he would not retire. Well, as fate would have it, our lives became quite disrupted when he was laid off with no light in sight. Someone was however looking after us, maybe a divine intervention, but he found an ad for 4 Pillars in the local paper and he brought it to my attentions. This time I listened as I knew we had to work on fixing the situation. We called the number, I was distraught at the time and when Scott answered the phone, he immediately relieved my anxiety by saying “don’t worry, I am certain there is something we can do to help you”. Scott setup an appointment so that he could discuss our options and go over our situation. From the minute we entered the reception area, we were treated with kindness, respect and courtesy. We still have a lot to learn on budgeting and credit rebuilding but we are certain with 4 Pillars help we will meet all of our goals. I spent a long time just trying to take care of my debt myself. Constantly trying to pay off the bills, and somehow manage to have a life. It wasn’t working.
