There is no judgement, only understanding

Making the BIG decision to have someone finally help you with your ongoing crisis of financial instabilities and getting advice on what to do to make all those nasty calls stop is a Huge Step.

I had been contemplating it for a few years but was always ashamed that I was not able to handle it all myself. I felt as if I was letting both the companies and myself down as I had make promises to them to make payments that I was sure I could work into my already tight budget. Of course I couldn’t and this is where the shame and embarrassment came in. Now I was avoiding all those calls hoping they would just get the hint and go away. They didn’t.

I was told about 4 Pillars and thought that it would not kill me to at least check them out. So onto their web site I went and filled out the info required and very shortly thereafter Blair contacted me and the process began.

Right from the start Blair put me at ease and reassured me that I was not alone and that this is just another part of the business. We went over all my options and we both agreed that bankruptcy would be more beneficial to me than a consumer proposal as mainly I had JUST enough income to live day to day and owing the amount I did, I still could not make payments of any kind to anyone even if it was a lowered amount.

I was apprehensive at first to go through with the consumer proposal. I did some research before I went in and asked Scott all the concerns and questions I had. His ability to deal with things, in a very professional yet courteous manner and in the way he answered my questions, made me more comfortable in my decision. I went in weary and left feeling good about the decision I made.

Over the last few years I had managed to run up $150k in unsecured debt. Mainly credit cards and line of credit. I had approached the banks to secure a loan to pay off the debts, but because of the high minimum payments, I was not able to qualify for the payments, which would have been less than my minimum payments each month! Because of the high balances I was carrying, the interest rates kept creeping up and it was becoming a challenge just to make the minimum payments. I was losing sleep, and it was stressful for me and my family, just trying to make ends meet. I was constantly searching the internet for solutions to my predicament when I came across John and Jennifer’s website. I contacted them and they assured me over the phone that they could help me out. I must admit initially I was a little skeptical. I met with them and they were able to discuss various options. They seemed genuinely sympathetic to my situation.
