Debt Issues, Who Can You Trust? 4 Pillars Kitchener

By Scott Patton

Debt Issues, Who Can You Trust?   4 Pillars Kitchener

When did we get so cynical?  When did we get so suspicious?  Even when someone does a random act of kindness we’re looking for the catch, checking to see if there are any strings attached.  Have we gotten so jaded that we look for the negative in everything?  How did we get this way.  Granted our collective experiences shape how we view the world, add in the barrage of doom and gloom reported in the media, it’s easy to see how our thought process can get colored in skepticism.  After all, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

If you’re someone who has debt issues, who can you trust? It’s hard to see the bright side of life.  Your dreams for the future get snuffed out by your current reality; a cold, debt-ridden, without hope, reality.  The truth is your debt is responsible for much of your negative outlook.  Debt has thrust you into a world of stress, fear, and humiliation.  It’s affecting your mental health, your physical health, your relationships and your financial security.  So what are you going to do about it?  You’ve probably convinced yourself that your situation is hopeless and, short of winning the lottery, will remain hopeless.  But it’s not.  You can do something about your debt, and you can have the future you wanted, but first you need to apply a little bit of that well-honed skepticism.

Your desperation to get out of debt may have left you vulnerable to those who prey on people in your situation. So-called experts who make promises but leave you in worse shape financially.  They offer you easy solutions and big promises to put an end to your debt.  Sound too good to be true?  Now is the time for you to find out.

When you go looking for debt help do it with your eyes and ears wide open.  A reputable Debt Specialist will encourage your research and welcome any and all questions without hesitation.

  • If the debt company is offering you their services for free, ask how they’re getting paid.
  • Ask for references, good and bad.
  • Ask for a detailed explanation of how they work and what exactly they are going to do to help you? (Remember, a successful debt restructuring plan will go beyond just paying off your debt, it should help you create a sustainable budget and provide a comprehensive credit rebuilding program.)
  • Are you greeted with judgement and blame or genuine compassion and understanding?
  • Are you talking to this expert in person or dealing with a call center?
  • Does it feel like your concerns are being taken seriously with a genuine effort to understand your situation or does it seem like you are just a number being offered a one size fits all, debt settlement plan.
  • Are you being heard? Your long term financial goals need to be taken into account before any restructuring plan is created.

The most important thing to look for when seeking debt help is transparency.  Without transparency there is no trust.  What they aren’t telling you is sometimes more important than what they are saying.  That is why it is important to find out where their loyalty lies.  If they have ties to your creditors, then they are not working in your best interest.    I’m Scott Patton, your 4 Pillars Debt Specialist in Kitchener.  When it’s your financial future at stake, a little skepticism can be your best friend.

Is 4 Pillars Debt Solutions a Scam?

No. 4 Pillars Debt Solutions is not a scam.  Granted, it may seem like we’re too good to be true however, over the last 15 years we have created a program to deal with debt; one we believe is the most successful and most comprehensive in Canada.  Yes, we provide a service for which we do charge a fee; but, with that fee comes our promise that we work only for you.  We are not impartial, we are on YOUR side, representing your best interest with no obligations or duties to your creditors.

4 Pillars Debt Solutions has found itself in a rare position in the market. There are other companies who are either funded by your creditors or have a fiduciary duty to them.  So do your homework.  As members of the debt advisory business, we believe you either represents the debtor or they represent the creditor.  You can’t do both and be impartial.

Since 2002 4 Pillars Debt Solutions has been creating debt settlement plans to get Canadians out of debt, and keep them out of debt.  As a result of the 4 Pillars approach, 97% of our clients have successfully completed their debt restructuring programs and are now experiencing freedom from debt.  We also ensured they were able to rebuild their credit, quickly and effectively. Leaving them with a much better credit score than when they started the debt settlement process.
