We help to reduce your debt by up to 80% and get you back on track. Up to 97% of families successfully complete the plans we create and become debt free.

Many families came to Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows for more space at a lower price than closer to Vancouver. That trade-off often comes with a long commute along the Lougheed Highway, over the Golden Ears Bridge or on the West Coast Express, plus a bigger mortgage, two vehicles and childcare. Whether you live in Silver Valley, Cottonwood, Albion, Hammond, Whonnock or near Haney Place, when credit cards start covering the gaps, 4 Pillars helps you understand every option and choose a plan that fits. Your first consultation is free and confidential.
We start with your real monthly numbers, then explain which options fit, from a tighter budget and money coaching and a debt management plan to a formal solution through a Licensed Insolvency Trustee. See all of our services.
For a Maple Ridge household with steady income and more unsecured debt than it can repay, a consumer proposal is often the first formal option to compare. You offer your creditors part of what you owe, paid over up to five years, and you generally keep your home and other assets while you keep up your secured payments. Only a Licensed Insolvency Trustee can file it, and your creditors vote on it. 4 Pillars is not a trustee. We help you prepare and connect you with one. How a consumer proposal works.
Bankruptcy is usually considered when income is limited and there’s little equity to protect, for example a renter whose debts have grown well beyond what a proposal payment could cover. Only a Licensed Insolvency Trustee can file it, and B.C. law sets which assets you keep. We’ll go through what it would mean for you before you meet a trustee. Learn about bankruptcy.
If your credit is still strong, a consolidation loan can replace several payments with one. Refinancing your home is another route some homeowners take, but it moves unsecured debt onto your property and doesn’t reduce what you owe. Compare options for homeowners first. Once your debt is under control, we help with credit rebuilding.

You can usually keep your mortgage as long as your payments are up to date. A proposal does appear on your credit report, so switching lenders can be harder than renewing with your current one. Talk to us before your renewal date so you can plan the timing.
Yes. Payday loans are unsecured debts and can generally be included in a consumer proposal or bankruptcy. B.C. also limits what payday lenders can charge.
Each person who signed a joint debt can be asked to repay all of it, not just half. If one of you files a consumer proposal or bankruptcy, the lender can still pursue the other. We’ll help you understand your options before you decide.
