Dear John, It was like a glimmer of light when I saw your ad on Facebook regarding the ability to get out of debt. The past few years have been trying on my financial situation. Yes, I was the decider in all these decisions and I certainly made poor choices in this. But I am trying my best to get out of a bad situation. Previously I had 2 jobs to help with the financial situations, resulting in money being owed to the CRA, but because of an unexpected diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis I had to focus more on my health. Every day I am so thankful that I met you. My husband and I were in way over our heads, drowning in a sea of debt, and it was only getting worse. We didn't know what to do anymore. I was in debt for $116,000 due to a bad marriage. My wife left me with a mortgage that I could not pay and ended up in foreclosure. When I met with the trustee, they recommended that I go bankrupt but I didn’t want to listen to them and just give up. I’m glad that I hired John and Jennifer to help me instead. They represented me and helped reduce my CMHC mortgage shortfall debt down to $22,400. I didn’t have to go bankrupt just like the trustee recommended. My monthly payment is now $400 with NO interest! I am going be debt free in less than 5 years!

Over the last few years I had managed to run up $150k in unsecured debt. Mainly credit cards and line of credit. I had approached the banks to secure a loan to pay off the debts, but because of the high minimum payments, I was not able to qualify for the payments, which would have been less than my minimum payments each month! Because of the high balances I was carrying, the interest rates kept creeping up and it was becoming a challenge just to make the minimum payments. I was losing sleep, and it was stressful for me and my family, just trying to make ends meet. I was constantly searching the internet for solutions to my predicament when I came across John and Jennifer’s website. I contacted them and they assured me over the phone that they could help me out. I must admit initially I was a little skeptical. I met with them and they were able to discuss various options. They seemed genuinely sympathetic to my situation. We were able to come up with a strategy whereby we would offer a proposal based on what I could afford to repay on a monthly basis over a 60 month period. The settlement was agreed to by all parties (a pleasant surprise as I was still somewhat skeptical) and now I have a fixed monthly payment repaying a portion of the total debt, interest free. Having a strategy in place, and the ability to make my monthly payments has taken a huge burden off my back, and I sincerely thank John and Jennifer for all their help.
For the past year, my husband and I have tried to consolidate our debts. Out of luck the bank couldn’t approve us. I was told by a friend to try a broker but we got the same response from the bank “DECLINED”. But the broker advised us three things; first is to find a credit counselor, secondly is to file bankruptcy and lastly sell the house. This is not what I wanted to do! I did a search looking for options: I found 3 credit counselors I but wasn’t really convinced about what they said about their program being the best option for me. I didn’t know what else to do but keep researching and not lose hope that there is still a chance for us to save our home, our marriage, our family and our reputation. Then I found John and Jennifer’s advertisement and responded by filling out a form. We were contact by John and Jennifer the next day. My husband and I listened to their advice about my options, we trusted them to handle our debt problems. We had no hesitation when we decided to hire them to represent us and our best interest. We had an enormous debt that would take a long time to pay back. But because of their help, my debt was reduced from $35,400 to $8,400. My monthly payment is now down to $150. My husband’s debt was originally $24,600 and it is now down to $7,840. His new monthly payment is now $140.00. We knew that if we didn’t get the help we got from John and Jennifer, we would have to sacrifice for a lot of years to pay off our debts due to high interest and have to work two jobs to catch up paying just the minimum every month. I am excited to be debt free sooner! With their help with budgeting, we now maintain our monthly expenses and income according to our needs. 2 years ago, I walked into the 4 Pillars Calgary office and met with John, and it was an absolutely excellent experience to say the least, considering the position I was in at that time. I am currently half way through paying down my debt, and the nice part is, that is the only debt that I currently have. I am also proud to say that my credit card company isn’t too happy with me, because I maintain a zero balance, and I do use it regularly. I will continue to refer people to your services when needed. My husband lost his job from oil and gas company in Oct 2014 until present. I was pregnant with our first child and had difficulties in pregnancy, the reason why I worked as casual. I have no EI as well as my husband (he worked Contractual). It's been a tough time for us waking up everyday and worrying how to pay our mortgage, car loan, credit card and CRA. I guess I'm a slow learner. John remembered me making an appointment about 3 years before I actually got the guts to come and do something about my grim situation. He told me in our first meeting about talking to someone with an accent and an expensive latte addiction, not the timmys or starbucks type, much more expensive, but ooohhh so good. I am happy to say I have cut back from 5 or 6 a week to 1 or 2 :) I was mortified my financial situation had come to this. John, you were kind and caring, as were you, Jennifer when I met you in my 2nd visit. The last thing I imagined doing in meetings of this sort would be to laugh. You helped me see I was not a loser, but could turn this around. It was NOT even suggested I sell my horse, (my heart), and FOR THAT I WAS SO RELIEVED!! I still have some (a lot) of learning to do, still making some mistakes, but feel confident that with your help I can turn this around. Now instead of 3 steps back and 1/2 forward it has reversed. My stress levels have dropped significantly and even when I quit my job, which was terrible, John, I thought you'd be angry at the timing etc, but the reaction was the exact opposite. My name is MJ. I wanted to let you know that I have worked with Jennifer Croft, and her husband John, at 4 Pillars Consulting. They were highly competent and professional when it came to helping me and my financial issues. When I relocated to Calgary from Montreal, my financial life was a total mess, a true disaster of biblical proportions. I was getting serious letters from lawyers in Edmonton and Toronto. I was even getting angry phone calls at 5 o clock in the morning. I really felt I had no other choice but to declare bankruptcy. I just wanted this nightmare to end. My husband wasn’t working leaving me to support us and our two kids for more than half a year. The bills piled up, my income alone wasn’t enough to handle everyday expenses, let alone previous debts that were accumulating. Debt from paying for our wedding, and having two kids, poor decisions, one income and no plan in the present or future to pay it all off. We were introduced to John & Jennifer through a mutual friend. I first met with John, and in our appointment he gave me an honest assessment of my situation and options to think over. In our second appointment my husband came with me. John answered many of our questions and I was hopeful for the first time. I would like to send this letter with great gratitude to Jennifer Croft. Before I met Jennifer, I had about $42,000 worth of debt. I used to dread hearing the ring on my telephone. It felt like there was always a bill collector wanting money. Before I met Jennifer, I had $43,000 worth of debt. I tried for years to make it go away. The stress was always there day and night. Whenever I would make any money, it would always get gobbled by the debt. Over the last few years I had managed to run up $150k in unsecured debt. Mainly credit cards and line of credit. I had approached the Banks to secure a loan to pay off the debts, but because of the high minimum payments, I was not able to qualify for the payments, which would have been less than my minimum payments each month! Because of the high balances I was carrying, the interest rates kept creeping up and it was becoming a challenge just to make the minimum payments. I was losing sleep, and it was stressful for me and my family, just trying to make ends meet.
