I’m Robert Glen, a 4 Pillars debt relief specialist who was born, raised and educated in Windsor and Essex County. This page is for the east side of the city and the towns beside it: Riverside, Forest Glade, Fontainebleau, Tecumseh and Lakeshore. If you’re carrying more debt than your paycheque can handle, I’ll help you understand your options and choose one that fits.
I know this is a stressful time, but there are usually more ways out of debt than people expect. If you live in East Windsor and have a specific question, send me an email and I’ll respond.
If your household depends on Windsor’s auto plants or the parts suppliers around them, shift changes, overtime and layoffs can move your income up or down from one month to the next. If you cross the river to work in Detroit and get paid in U.S. dollars, exchange rates add another swing. Credit cards and lines of credit tend to fill the gaps in the slow months and stay maxed out when work picks back up. I start by looking at what you actually earn across good months and lean ones, then lay out the options that fit, from a budget and money coaching to a debt management plan or a formal solution. See all of our services.
A consumer proposal can suit an East Windsor household with steady income that can’t repay its unsecured debts in full. It’s a legal offer to your creditors to repay part of what you owe over up to five years, filed and administered by a Licensed Insolvency Trustee. 4 Pillars is not a trustee. I help you prepare and connect you with one, and your creditors vote on the offer. How a consumer proposal works.
According to the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy, the Windsor–Sarnia economic region recorded 2,372 consumer insolvencies in 2025, slightly fewer than in 2024. About 75% (1,771) were consumer proposals, but bankruptcies rose 12.3% to 601.
When income has dropped for good, for example after a plant closure, bankruptcy may be the more realistic route. Only a Licensed Insolvency Trustee can file it, and Ontario law decides which assets you keep. I’ll walk you through what it would mean for your car, savings and income before you meet a trustee. Learn about bankruptcy.
If your credit is still in reasonable shape, a consolidation loan can roll several payments into one. Homeowners in Forest Glade, Tecumseh or Lakeshore sometimes look at refinancing, but that moves unsecured debt onto your home and doesn’t lower what you owe. If you’ve been turned down, compare options for homeowners first. Once your debt is under control, I can help you with credit rebuilding.

A trustee looks at your actual income in Canadian dollars. Because exchange rates move, it’s smart to build your budget and any offer around a conservative number so a weaker U.S. dollar doesn’t leave you short.
Talk to someone before you miss payments. Severance, EI and any recall date all affect which option makes sense and when to act, so you don’t commit to payments you can’t keep up.
No. The first step is a free financial assessment over the phone. Call (519) 969-8231 to set it up.
Yes. In 2025, about three out of four consumer insolvencies in the Windsor–Sarnia economic region were consumer proposals.
