To: Mr. John Croft Like most of the teenagers, I had never cared about my credit rating during my teenage life. Although, my parents tried their best to explain me the importance of Credit history, but I never bothered. I was getting tired of all the calls from Collection Agencies & being denied for anything I will apply for. I used to dread hearing the ring on my telephone. It felt like there was always a bill collector wanting money. Before I met Jennifer, I had $43,000 worth of debt. Before I met Jennifer, I had $10,000 worth of debt plus interest that were so high. I was experiencing financial hardship, I couldn’t think straight, or focus on what I have to do. In September of 2014, I called Trevor for an appointment. I had noticed his advertisement in a flyers envelop and had saved it. Several times in the past, I had attempted to find a financial solution by contacting three major banks and even a financial adviser at a well-known local accounting firm. The end result of these contacts was sell more assets, keep paying the interest charges for the rest of my life. Trevor basically explained how he could help me over the telephone. At the first appointment he reviewed financial sheets and background information I had prepared. He pointed out to me that I was actually a victim of fraud. I was instructed to fill out budget details, produce certain documents and asked to pay his deposit. After about six weeks I met with Trevor with my homework completed. I was told how the Trustee works/is engaged and decided at this point to proceed in early January 2015. The paperwork was filed and the waiting period for court approval commenced. Trevor called me to meet with him after the waiting period time. He explained everything was approved and that in five years with much smaller payments than I was paying on interest only the credit card debts would be cleared. For the next couple of months I did receive threatening calls from one of the banks who had engaged a Collection agency. I blocked the call numbers, but finally I answered a couple. They would not listen to me that they should contact the Trustee. As a result, I phoned Trevor, he advised me to call the Trustee immediately. Trevor immediately provided the name and phone number. Within three days of calling the Trustee all calls stopped. I am very appreciative of how Trevor was able to assist me. He is always just a phone call away if a questions arises. I feel that John is a miracle-worker and savior.

Before I met John Croft, I had an approximate $55,000 worth of debt. I had been experiencing financial difficulties for some time resulting in lots of stress, sleepless nights, fatigue – filled days, lack of concentration at work, a sense of helplessness, overwhelming burden of responsibility and fear of possible outcomes. All of these led me into Depression and I ended up on anti – depressants. When I met John, first and foremost I was relieved to discover that he could help me. He presented me with options to pay back my debt: pay it back in full, or declare bankruptcy (he explained that I had the option to keep my home or let it go), or consolidate my debts and cut them up to one – third of the amount I owed and make arrangements for small monthly payments. Throughout our consultation process, John was respectful, genuinely concerned, thorough, honest as well as sensitive to my situation and feelings. While he expressed his opinion of my best option, he did not try to influence me and allowed me to make up my own decision. Neither did he pressure me into making a quick decision. To whom it may concern:

After a series of rather unfortunate circumstance occurred to me beginning with an injury in 2015 that combined with an existing chronic illness prevented me from continuing work and forced an early retirement that cut my income from just over $3000 a month to $0 initially and following a lengthy fight with an insurance company and the government got that income back to about half of what it had been previously it became quite evident that things were going south quickly with respect to the finances in my life. My modest savings had been depleted while fighting the insurance company and Canada Pension and my credit cards had become pretty much maxed out trying to keep ahead of payments and keep the heat and hydro on not to mention food on the table while these battles were on going.

Even though settlements were reached and back payments were made by the time of that occurred I had gotten so deeply in debt that the only chance I thought I would have to live any kind of normal life again would be to declare bankruptcy and start over. At age 55+ that was not something that I really was looking forward to but I felt I had no choice.

By chance after a routine visit to my dental office which happened to be next door to the 4 pillars Personal Debt Restructuring office in Peterborough I dropped in and became acquainted with Adrian Moore. That turned out to be a changing day in my life and one of the best decisions I have made.

Adrian treated me with nothing but respect. He took what I perceived as an unmanageable mountain of debt and with his help and guidance we built a consumer proposal that cut my debt to a manageable amount and offered a considerable decrease if I were able to work hard with my budget and make further cuts in order to repay the proposal sooner. The stress was becoming unbearable

We would like to express our appreciation and our thanks to John in regards to how he has helped us with the heavy debt load we were carrying. It started a few years ago, when we decided to start our own business, we felt it seemed to be going well but then work was not coming in as we expected it should and no one was wanting to pay when invoices were sent out. We were paying all the expenses with our personal credit cards which were starting to pile up.
